Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how Tenté Limited ("Tenté", "we", "us," "our") collects, uses, and discloses information about individuals who use our website (https://tente.ai), mobile applications available on the App Store and Play Store, services, tools, and features, or who otherwise interact with us (collectively, the "Services").

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, we are the data controller of personal information we collect via the Services, and "you" and "your" means you as the user of the Services, whether you are a customer, website visitor, beta tester, job applicant, representative of a company with whom we do business, or another individual whose information we collect under this Privacy Policy.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using any of the Services, you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described here. If you do not agree, please do not use or access the Services.

Note: This Privacy Policy complies with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and its Information Privacy Principles (IPPs), including IPP 12 on cross-border disclosures.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may modify this Privacy Policy from time to time and will update the "Last Updated" date above when we do so. If we make material changes, we will use reasonable efforts to notify you (for example, by email, in-app notice, or on https://tente.ai) and will take any additional steps required by applicable law. If you do not agree to any updates, please stop using the Services.

Information We Collect and How We Use It

Information You Provide to Us

Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect:

Contact information: such as name, address, email address, phone number or country of residence, used to create and manage your account, communicate with you, and provide customer support.

Account information: such as username, password or authentication credentials, profile information, and preferences, used to secure your account and personalise your experience.

Payment information: such as billing address and limited payment details, which are typically processed via a third-party payment provider (we do not store full card numbers ourselves except where strictly necessary).

Service interaction information (your "Digital Me" data): questions, prompts, documents, files, preferences, and other content you submit to the Services, as well as the outputs generated by Tenté's AI systems and the data objects stored in your Tenté identity (TID) and Data Garden.

Third-party connection data: information from services you choose to connect to Tenté (for example, calendar, productivity tools, wearables, or other apps), in order to unify your digital life and provide insights while maintaining a privacy-first architecture.

Applicant information: CVs, employment history and similar information if you apply for a role with Tenté.

Other information you choose to provide: such as information shared when you contact us, complete surveys, participate in beta tests, or provide feedback.

We use this information to:

Provide, maintain, and improve the Services, including our AI companion and identity platform.

Create and manage your Tenté identity (TID), including Data Garden and associated privacy controls.

Personalise your experience and provide private, context-aware assistance and insights from your own data, consistent with Tenté's privacy-first design.

Communicate with you about the Services, including updates, security alerts, and administrative messages.

Send marketing communications where permitted and where you have not opted out.

Evaluate job applications and manage recruitment processes.

Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights, our users, and others.

Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Services, we automatically collect certain information ("Usage Data"), which may include:

Device and browser information (e.g. device type, operating system, browser type, IP address).

Log and usage information (e.g. pages viewed, features used, timestamps, error logs, interaction with emails or in-app messages).

Approximate location derived from your IP address (e.g. country or city level).

We use this information to:

Operate and secure the Services.

Understand how the Services are used, diagnose performance issues, and improve features.

Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents.

On https: //tente.ai, we use Google Analytics to understand website usage (e.g. page views, sessions). Where required by law, we will seek your consent before using non-essential analytics. You can opt out via browser settings or by visiting https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Information from Other Sources

We may receive information about you from:

Analytics providers (e.g. Google Analytics for the website).

Third-party services you connect to Tenté (e.g. productivity tools, health or finance apps), in accordance with your permissions and our integration settings.

Publicly available sources where relevant (e.g. professional profiles if you apply for a role).

Business partners where we provide joint offerings, beta programmes, or referrals.

We use this information in line with the purposes described above and subject to any additional disclosures at the point of collection.

Privacy-First Technical Architecture

Tenté is designed as a privacy-first, self-sovereign identity and AI platform, meaning that:

Personal data in your TID and Data Garden is stored and processed using privacy-preserving techniques (including client-side encryption and zero-knowledge-style approaches where applicable), so that plaintext data is not unnecessarily exposed to Tenté's infrastructure.

Our adaptive AI (e.g. AGS-RAG) accesses your data under strict access controls and only to provide the Services requested by you (for example, to power your personalised AI companion), rather than to create general models for unrelated users.

You can manage connections, revoke third-party access, and move or delete data objects from your Data Garden, including placing sensitive data into "For My Eyes Only" silos with additional restrictions.

Details of these technical features are available in our product documentation and may be expanded as the platform evolves.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to:

Keep you signed in and remember your preferences.

Measure usage and performance of the Services.

Support security and fraud prevention.

Most browsers allow you to control cookies through settings. If you disable certain cookies, some features of the Services may not work properly.

Where required by law, we will obtain your consent before using non-essential cookies (e.g. marketing or advanced analytics cookies).

How and When We Share Information

We may disclose personal information to:

Service providers: third-party vendors who help us deliver the Services (e.g. cloud hosting, analytics, payment processing, communications, security). These providers are contractually required to protect your information and only use it on our instructions.

Business partners: organisations with whom we jointly offer features, promotions, or integrations, but only where necessary and in accordance with your choices.

Business Partners as of 21/01/2026: none.

Professional advisers: such as lawyers, accountants, auditors, and insurers, where necessary for legitimate business purposes.

Corporate transactions: any actual or potential merger, acquisition, financing, sale of assets, or similar transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.

We may also disclose information:

To comply with legal obligations, lawful requests and processes (including from law enforcement or regulators), where permitted or required by applicable law.

To protect the rights, property, security, and safety of Tenté, our users, or others.

We do not sell your personal information or use it for third-party advertising profiling in a way that conflicts with Tenté's privacy-first principles.

Social and Third-Party Features

The Services may include:

Links to third-party websites, platforms, or services.

Integrations or widgets that allow you to share content or log in using other platforms.

Your use of any third-party service is governed by that third party's terms and privacy policy, and we are not responsible for their practices. You should review those policies and set your privacy preferences directly with those providers.

Children’s Privacy

The Services are not intended for children under the age of 13 (or a higher age where required by local law), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children in this age group. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details below.

Data Security and Retention

We implement technical and organisational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption, access controls, logging, and security monitoring appropriate to the nature of the data and the risks involved.

However, no system can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure, and you are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and devices. If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, please contact us immediately.

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

Provide and maintain the Services and your Tenté identity.

Comply with legal, tax, accounting, or reporting obligations.

Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

When personal information is no longer needed, we will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

International Data Transfers

Tenté is registered in New Zealand. We process personal information primarily in New Zealand, but may transfer it to other countries where we or our service providers operate (for example, where you are located or where your chosen third-party integrations are based).

Where you initiate a transfer (e.g. by connecting a third-party service based overseas): We will only transfer your personal information to the extent necessary to fulfil your request and in accordance with your consent and choices. Such transfers are generally covered by your agreement to use these third-party integrations.

General transfers: Where we transfer personal information internationally, we take steps to ensure an appropriate level of protection, which may include:

Relying on adequacy decisions or equivalent safeguards recognised under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and Information Privacy Principle 12 (Disclosure outside New Zealand).

Using standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards with our service providers.

Implementing additional technical measures such as encryption and access controls.

You remain responsible for reviewing the privacy practices of any third-party services you connect to Tenté.
